Hearing the music of “Kid Douglas” a.k.a. Memphis Minnie and others as a youth, or when Lonnie Johnson and Billie Holiday visited our home, this fostered my deep love for music. Singing in Hamilton’s Stewart Memorial Church Choir, childhood travels to visit relatives in the hills of Tennessee, or on the streets of Detroit. This is what you can hear in my voice. Likewise the friends, who shared their craft on this recording. I love and respect them for their musical talent. Yes, the Blues is all right !
